Adam Peronto, the Philanthropic Services Officer at the Door County Community Foundation, explains the significance of this facility and the collaborative efforts that make the salmon distribution possible.The harvest yielded an impressive 11,000 pounds of fresh chinook salmon, which will be distributed to the nine food pantries that make up the Door County Food Pantry Coalition. These pantries, located across the region from Washington Island to Maplewood, will receive monthly allotments of the nutrient-rich fish, ensuring a steady supply for their patrons.
