A Diverse Cast Brings the Characters to Life
The talented cast of "The Revolutionists" features four Catawba College students, each bringing their own unique talents and interpretations to their respective roles. Alana Williamson portrays the Haitian rebel Marianne Angelle, Jovey McFarland takes on the role of Olympe De Gouge, and first-year students Grayce Pitman and Allie Rahman bring to life the characters of Marie Antoinette and Charlotte Corday, respectively. Under the direction of senior Winter Hamilton, the production promises to be a captivating and thought-provoking exploration of these remarkable women and their legacies.
Collaborative Efforts Behind the Scenes
The production of "The Revolutionists" at Catawba College is the result of a collaborative effort between the Shuford School of Performing Arts and the Blue Masque, the oldest student-led organization on campus. The set design is the work of senior Lindsey Hart, while the costumes are designed by first-year student Madison McCloud, with assistant costume and wig design by junior Francine Green-Thomas. The lighting and sound design are in the capable hands of Teresa Green, and the crew includes Kerala Bannister, Adison Schwab, and Julia Rockwell.
